It can benefit the joints by helping circulate synovial fluid that brings oxygen and nourishes joints, and by removing inflammatory waste products. Because running is a high-impact sport, some doctors do not recommend it for people who have arthritis in weight-bearing joints. However, many people with arthritis can do moderate running with the right modifications.
