The most beautiful thing about Ayurveda is that it does not just treat diseases but can effectively prevent diseases too, says Pratap Chauhan, director of Jiva Ayurveda, a 25-year-old Medical & Research Centre that has been practicing and reviving this Vedic Indian system of healing and well-being, modernising it along the way. Over 500 Ayurvedic doctors and healthcare professionals, 80 clinics across the country and a range of inhouse wellness products form a part of Jiva Ayurveda. When we heard that it has rolled out two Artificial Intelligence based tools, we could not help but speak to its director about it. Excerpts from the interview:

There has been a steady rise in the popularity of Ayurveda. Your take?

Yes, it is true. There are many reasons. First, people around the world are realising that symptomatic treatment alone is not the right approach to good health. No one wants to take a pill for the rest of their lives. Instead, they are looking for ways to treat the root cause of their disease, seeking permanent relief. Every individual is unique and the treatment of a disease becomes more effective when it is personalised. Ayurveda works on this principle and people are becoming increasingly aware of that fact.

Second, the world is burdened with preventable lifestyle diseases. Ayurveda, along with yoga and meditation, provides an effective way to prevent diseases and stay healthy.
