Shes Married To One Of Australias Biggest Stars, Yet Jules Sebastian Isnt Immune From Emotional Lows The Busy Mum Talks To Paul Ewart About Making A Relationship Work And Regaining Her Fitness.
“I had kids and couldn’t be bothered anymore!” she says, displaying an honesty Good Health soon learns is a huge part of her character. “I just stopped exercising. Getting back into the gym was at the back of my mind, as I’m sure it is for many new mums. You think, ‘I’ll get to it one day’, but then that day never comes… you get your mum bod and you just accept it, because you just don’t have time.”
When Guy was approached last year by a men’s magazine to do an eight-week ‘body transformation challenge’ Jules took it as a cue for her own transformation. Piggy-backing onto his training sessions and eating plan, she threw herself into a healthier lifestyle.
“I just saw that as an opportunity to get in there myself and tagged along,” she explains. “It really helped that we were both doing it and were able to hold one another accountable. We cleared the house of anything sugary and carb-y and started from scratch.
“After three weeks I started to see results – my body started to change and my mind cleared. It was so hard, but having a trainer really helped, as did Guy going through the same thing too. Afterwards, I had proved to myself that it can be done, even with two kids, so I no longer had the old excuses.”
