Dr Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre
The Chennai-based diabetes care provider, Dr Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre, started scouting for PE funding a couple of years ago but finally received the funding in April 2017. Two investors viz., M/s. Lok Capital and M/s. Evolvence participated in the funding and the total investment was $10.23 million (around Rs 66 crore).
Utilising the funding: The majority of the funds are slated for growth capital. Said Dr V Mohan, chairman, Dr Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre, “We raised funding to establish diabetes centres in various parts of the country where we lack presence at present. However, part of the funds would also be utilised for its ancillary concern, Dr Mohan’s Diabetes Health Care Products, for promoting new healthcare products for diabetes like diabetes friendly food products eg. Dr Mohan’s High Fibre white rice, brown rice and other products.
