Because I am Worth It

I have spent a significant amount of time of my working life with the feeling of not being good enough, filled with regrets. If I had not resigned from xyz company, I would have been a director by now; if I had done this, I would have ‘x’ money; if I had not been emotional, I would have had dual citizenship, and similar such regrets. And as a result I would (and probably still do to some extent) look for appreciation from outside of me. I wanted others to say, “You are a good human being”. So one would not be wrong in thinking that when someone would praise me (and not just flatter me) I would be overjoyed, right? Wrong.
