Summer or Grishma Rutu has arrived as per the Indian calendar. According to Charak Samhita, food for this season should be sweet, tender, cool in potency, easy to digest and should include more liquids. The recommended food items are milk and rice, Sherbat and Shrikhand. Yogratnakar suggests avoiding salty, sour, bitter, and hot (chilli) tastes, while also minimizing exposure to sun-rays and physical work in this season.
