Parallels between Buddhism and Yoga

The Buddha, one of the enlightened masters of ancient India, was instrumental in the spread of spirituality across the country.

He was born in a royal family but renounced everything in his quest for enlightenment. After years of penance, he came up with his teachings known as the four noble truths. These consisted of the following: firstly, life is full of suffering; secondly, this is because of craving or attachments; thirdly, these can be resolved or overcome, and, lastly, there is an eightfold path which can resolve the craving and end the suffering.
