As the title goes, it was a futuristic view of human life. At the age of 10, I was extremely excited by the idea of foraying into the future to envision 2020. My Science teacher was very talented. She had impeccable oratory skills and her narratives kept all of us (students) hooked to the chapter as it took us literally to the &lsquo;Nonhuman&rsquo; world with food pills, motor wings, and robotic humans. Imagine veggies, pulses, grains, and fruits all in capsules! All one had to do was pop a pill for breakfast/lunch and dinner. Water was scarce and available in sachets, only to quench thirst. Humans wearing an oxygen mask to breathe... well, that reminds me of the state of Delhi now. By the way, Delhi stands first as the most polluted city in the world according to a recent survey. I wish oxygen masks are made available to all now. Commuting was the best part of the chapter, traffic jams were unknown, and everyone had motor wings to fly. Now when I think of it, the idea defies gravity... (ha ha). But I do wish life would be made easier by avoiding the neverending road jams.Two decades later, my life has been through many compartments of life experiences. Towards all that life has had to offer, is a feeling of gratitude which I have sustained. Today, the whole idea is ironically realistic, not the veggies, fruits, grains but the human race popping pills for supplements. At the moment, food supply is intact, not in the purest of its&rsquo; forms, but laced with fertilizers and chemicals or the hybrid versions. Thankfully, nature has been kind; water maybe not in abundance but there is no dearth as of now. But for how long will this last?2020 relationships are &lsquo;practical&rsquo; in the chapter. Well, to my surprise, this also came true. The current generation just now is so goal-oriented that feelings matter less and luxuries and comforts preside over other considerations. That&rsquo;s the robotic human behaviour of the world just now! Well, why not? In a country like India, where the population is screaming billions and more, the human race could go all out to survive!But I wonder now, even though this fantasy chapter may have not have been real as the vision of 2020, eventually someday we might get there, maybe in 2040 or 2050 or in the future.We have always been true to the theory &ldquo;survival of the fittest&rdquo;. The weak ones are wiped out, the strongest survive the worst. In the world which has become so sensitive, humans get affected by and intolerant to the slightest altercations of life. How are we prepared for the future? Or how do you get Gen X ready to face the upcoming challenges?Years and years of surveys of human life have only invented or discovered things for human comfort and good experiences. Everything is now available to have a great life experience. But how? What is the unit of happiness and how is it found?The only possible way to happiness, to be believed, is uncomplicated living. The human race has mangled itself in the unnecessary rat race and has forgotten the simple joys of life. The idea of life and living has been in the teachings of sages since time immemorial, yet we fail to understand or acknowledge this. Today the whole world is on tenterhooks needing help in understanding the aspects of life. Like a boon, yoga, for millions across the globe, has become a therapeutic activity. Myriads have found solace in it and for many, yoga has become a way of life.Let us wish 2020 be the year of peace, hope, humanity, happiness, and abundance to humankind. Stay happy and stay in Yoga!
