1 Lockdown living has taught us all that staying in saves money. When you forgo family dinners in restaurants or outings to the mall or movies, you save a lot, not to mention what you save on avoiding takeaway coffee. Keep it up. For a treat though, takeaway meals always end up cheaper than sit-down meals.
2 When it comes to birthdays and special occasions, get creative and make gifts as a family project. This forces you to acknowledge what makes your children special, as you create gifts that speak to each one.
3 Homemade baby food will go down a treat and save you a pretty penny. Buy vegetables in bulk, and dust off the blender. Freeze portions to save you time. Cheaper and healthier too!
4 Cancel all the frills and thrills such as extra-murals. Look at this as an opportunity to allow your child some freedom and free-play time, like when we were growing up.
