At school, in art class, we were always being told about the importance of preparatory work. You should explore different avenues before arriving at the final art piece you want to create. When I was fifteen I didn’t care about the prep and wanted to jump straight in. I just drew my one picture and I was finished! It has taken me over twenty-five years for the penny to drop that, oh yeah, preparation is key! The Dreckly Mittens are proof of this and it’s pretty much the first time that I have been super-proud of every single element of the design process.
