Cool Scandi style combines with vintage French flair in the home of Nat and Doug Woods, creating a chic setting for seasonal celebrations
During the run-up to Christmas, Nat Woods’ enchanting barn is enveloped in an extra layer of cosiness. Attention to detail is paramount as she carefully handprints her own giftwrap and thoughtfully places extra throws, cherished decorations and tea lights around each room, ensuring this West Sussex hideaway radiates a homely glow. ‘My husband Doug and I love this time of year,’ says Nat. ‘We savour traditional Christmas values and the simple pleasure of sharing precious time with loved ones.’
These days, festive celebrations in this serene, rural idyll, are a far cry from when the Woods moved in during 2011. ‘At that stage, the barn was tired and busy – a combination of orange pine and coloured carpets that weren’t to my taste,’ says Nat.
