Break For Summer

1 Get away without going away

Finally, you have time to chill at home. But, before you reach for that to-do list, think again. If your spare time is all about catching up, it’s not much of a break. Instead, try the following ideas for getting downtime with your stay-at-home break.

2 Shakeit up

Stay up late, sleep late and eat at slightly different times, as you would when you’re on vacation. Aim to create an environment that gets you out of your normal routine.

3 Hosta kerbside happy hour

There’s nothing more relaxing than hanging out with friends on a warm evening as the sun sinks and the kids ride up and down theblock on their bikes. But don’t get hung up on the formalities of throwing a party. Just declare your front porch the happy hour spot and invite neighbours to join in the fun.

4 Go fora walk

And make it the leisurely kind. It’s the perfect thing to do before you start winding down for bed. Why? Because being active in the evenings helps lower your blood sugar, which in turn helps slow down brain activity so you can fall asleep faster and sleep soundly through the night.
