ORIGIN COFFEE ROASTERS
Every issue, Caffeine puts the latest coffees through their paces. This month’s top pick wowed on the cupping table, sang on a v60 and shone in a Clever Dripper. Origin’s website states this natural coffee “is remarkably sweet, as if the perceived notes of fruit had been reduced in a pan full of sugar”. We couldn’t have put it better. Opening the bag, you get an intense boozy smell, like a fine cognac. During brewing, you get hints of florals, followed by a creamy, intense, clean cup with strawberry compote and apricot. It’s sophistication in a coffee cup.
