Ligne Roset South Africa takes on a new life, helmed by a group of dynamic design devotees
For many years, Ligne Roset has brought the very best of international interior design to South African consumers. But when the previous owners decided to immigrate however, gallerist Liza Essers knew the brand had to continue. Now, four women, Liza, Karen Liebmann, Jade Hamburger and Nadia Spetsiotis, who are known for their style, business savvy and aesthetic sensibilities, are at the helm.
With a chic showroom in Kramerville, Johannesburg (with hopes to expand to Cape Town in the near future), they are ushering in a new chapter for the iconic brand. We caught up with them to find out what makes them passionate about their new venture, and why they’re devoted to impeccable design.

What is the Ligne Roset aesthetic?
There are so many factors that make Ligne Roset the name that it is. It’s the simplicity of each design, paired with the unique vision of every collaborator and designer. Take the bottle green ‘Togo’ sofa for example; it’s an updated take on the mid-century look, which works so well in modernist homes because it softens the linear upholstery look.
