MIRROR IMAGE
One approach to decorating a twin bedroom is by enhancing its symmetry. After all, if you have identical beds, why not double up on matching headboards and accessories. Hanging mirrors will further emphasise this symmetrical note. A single bedside table between the two beds will act as the point of reflection, while saving floor space. Add a sense of fun by choosing the same bedspread in two different colourways.
Bunk bed painted in Lady Char’s Lilac pure flat emulsion, from £51 for 2.5ltr, Paint & Paper Library
STACKED UP
Bunk beds are a classic way of adding multiple beds to a child’s room, but consider going down the bespoke route to get the perfect fit. ‘This bunk stretches from floor to ceiling to maximise space,’ says interior designer Nicky Dobree who designed this room. ‘Built-in drawers keep clutter at bay, while curtains provide a cosseted space after bedtime reading, with bedside lights fitted to the beds.’
Canopy interior in Fritillerie in Warm Grey, £90m; valance in Lea in Mink, £99m, both GP&J Baker. Flooring in Sisal City Charcoal, £79sq m, Crucial Trading
