Although a planning application was first lodged with&acirc;&euro;&lsaquo; the council in February this year for a new car park, entrance and ticket office, nothing has yet materialised. Initially slated for re-opening in summer 2018, the discovery of the presence of great crested newts and bats meant that building work had to be terminated until the wildlife moved to a different location. This problem has now been resolved.&ldquo;We&rsquo;re now concerned about the viability of the proposed opening date of January 2019,&rdquo; said head gardener Ray Abraham. &ldquo;One day, as soon as possible, we&rsquo;ll open our gates and will welcome visitors to this unique location.&rdquo;
