Popping them in the ground and pots now makes spring seem closer!
The garden is really delightful just now. The dahlias are blazing away, creating rivulets of colour with the later sowing of cosmos and a rather good helenium ‘Can Can’. Yet, much as I’m enjoying it, it’s starting to get thin.
It’s that cold wind blowing thing. The annuals are fading and one frost from now and it’ll be a very different picture. But my autumn policy when it comes to garden design is to think about late May and then work backwards.
