World records tumble at Malvern giant veg event
Big may not be beautiful, but size and weight really do matter in the world of giant veg. Six new world records were set at the recent Malvern Autumn Show, with five growers scooping the ultimate accolade from a field of more than 600 entries spanning 33 categories.
The world-beaters spanned celery, leek, aubergine, sweet and chilli peppers and cabbage, and the tally is the most world records ever achieved at the same time at the National Giant Vegetable Championship, sponsored by CANNA UK.
