Investment banker Arvin Chia, his wife Jessica Pang, and their son, Kiran occupies this 5,550 sqf open-concept home located at Jade Hills.
We bought the bungalow in 2013. It was left empty for two years as we were living in Subang USJ then. Due to both my husband’s and my work commitments that required us to travel frequently for regional work, the need to move to Jade Hills had taken a back seat,” says Jessica, who worked closely with a team of interior designers who are every bit as passionate and meticulous about their work in creating her dream home.
“It was hard to decide on the choices that we ended up with,” admits the homeowner. The family had decided on a timeless style flaunting classicyet-modern contemporary aesthetics, resulting in the picture of a luxurious resort. The integration of the natural landscape of Jade Hills into their home reflects her husband and son’s love of the outdoors. The interior is also designed in such a way to allow natural light tostream through specific areas of the home.
“I believe part of the joy of owning your dream home is the journey you get to experience along the way,” says Jessica, who was involved throughout the design process of picking out the furniture and home decorations. In addition to custom-made furniture made by the interior designers, Jessica and her husband painstakingly shopped for, and chose decor pieces like carpets for their home. She also picked a sofa from BoConcept to complement the artistic feature wall in the living room.
Jessica believes that every home tells a different story. Unlike with conventional homes, the family went the extra mile to create a cosy family area for three, to lounge and watch television in. It is extremely important for her to be able to interact with her family and friends in the spaces throughout her home, including the living room and the kitchen, without the distraction of a television.
