A seamless mix of European and north African styles creates an enviable sense of serenity in this relaxed Swiss home.
As the sun rises over the northern shore of Lake Maggiore in Switzerland, there cannot be a more perfect spot from which to take in the serene view of water and mountains than the terrace of Jutta Schild’s house. Set on the edge of the lake near the town of Ascona, close to the Italian border, the property is a holiday retreat for Jutta, who works in fashion, and the place where she loves to go to relax with friends. When she and her partner, Lambert, found it three years ago, the 1960s house was “simple and very basic”, so they embarked on a year-long renovation to create a stylish interior to match its idyllic situation.
