WHO LIVES HERE A couple with three young children live here. The house was designed by interior designer Jessica Buckley (jessicabuckley.co.uk).
THE PROPERTY A five-bedroom three-storey Victorian terraced house in southwest London.
1 “A green zone adds depth”
‘When I was brought in to create a look for this home, I was greeted by wall-to-wall white emulsion and the effect was rather chilly. The alcove was previously painted black with a freestanding TV unit sitting within it, but I felt it was too much of a contrast. I suggested built-in cabinetry and painted it green. It’s a slightly different shade of green to the one in the living room to suit the south-facing light here, and it draws the eye to the garden. You can tell the client loves green, pink and blue – which also happen to be my favourite colours - so the palette was instinctive.’

HARDWOOD FLOORING A rustic-style wooden floor brings contrast to a sleek kitchen space, creating a relaxed interior
2 “Warm neutrals work better than stark white”
‘As the dining area is open to the white kitchen, it needed to feel cosier. We opted for a neutral for the walls to give it warmth, adding pops of colour, including a set of painted Ercol dining chairs.’
