Lawyer Saloni Gupta has made her compact New Delhi abodean amalgamation of stylish spaces radiating happiness forher two sons and herself.
A high-flying lawyer with one of the largest global companies, the lady has got her priorities right. Sharing equal focus are her two sons, her profession, her hobbies – and their residence.
The family’s 2100 sq ft three-bedroom apartment in New Delhi’s popular Greater Kailash 2 (or GK2 as Delhiites call it), has been home since 2015.
‘Ours is a well-lit third floor apartment abounding with a lot of positive energy. A terrace garden and lounge above has been converted into my art studio. I promote tribal Gond art which is extensively displayed in my house,’ says Saloni.
‘My sons are absolute stars! Vivaan, 10, is a repository of talent. He is a singer, pianist, soccer player and an artist! Eight-year-old Arnav is a firebrand. He is into skating and gymnastics besides being our yoga instructor!’ she enthuses.
‘Our home is a warm, fun and happy place. We three constantly spend time, energy and love into making this house our domicile. It is a favourite extension of our personalities, and of who we are. Given an opportunity, we won’t leave this address for any other place!’ says the single mom proudly.
A degree holder from Delhi University’s Campus Law Centre, the lawyer, practicing since 2002, has been a litigation and alternative dispute resolution lawyer for some of India’s largest corporates and global MNCs. Obviously, this involves a lot of travel.
‘This globe-trotting job is ideal and means my having traversed almost every continent. I make most of my work trips with weekends in between – which, for example, means London trips with getaways to the Lake District. A recent trip to San Francisco included visiting Stanford where I intend to see my children at Stanford Law University. Hopefully they will follow their lawyer mom’s footsteps!’ she says.
