When it came to renovating and modernising their existing kitchen space, Anthony and Nola found exactly what they were looking for when they visited the showroom of Mountfield Kitchens.
As Anthony explains, ‘We did have a good idea of what we were after, however, one of the displays in Mountfield Kitchens’ showroom instantly caught our eye and we knew we wanted something very similar for our home.’
Meeting designer Michael McElhatton, the couple were able to discuss the structural changes that were taking place to their home. They were building on an extension so a wall in the kitchen could be taken away to allow the area to become open-plan. The existing window in the kitchen was also dropped down to become a feature. With this new space to work with Michael helped the couple get the perfect kitchen to work within the available space.
The owner’s previous kitchen was a traditional oak design, so this modern, gloss finish is a total contrast. ‘We went with a mix of light and dark grey units and while we chose a Silestone White Storm worktop for the food prep area, on the island we opted for a contrasting grey marble for the breakfast bar and dining table.
