Victor Branco and James Fairley, interior architects and founders of award-winning interior design consultancy Atelier Interior Design, explain, ‘Our clients had built their dream home, but they knew their interiors were letting it down and we were tasked with the brief of redesigning their home interior to create the level of opulence and interior design detail required to reflect their personality and taste.’
As Victor explains ‘Our clients wanted to create different moods for each individual space but in order to achieve a cohesive design scheme and a nice flow throughout the property we introduced elements of the same colour in each of the spaces in the ground floor, using different hues of blue, in the principal lounge, kitchen and dining, hallway and snug. We also had to keep in mind the style of the build and some of the fixtures and furnishings that were already in place and decided that a classical style with a nod to the contemporary would be the best fit all round.
‘Our clients would be living in the house throughout, so we only tackled one room at a time to cause minimum disruption for the family,’ he adds. The work took about 12 months from start to finish and the first area to get a makeover was the elegant entrance hall.’
