A bold garden concept with a diverse selection of garden rooms that share a story of family past and present
This exquisite garden project is essentially a bespoke series of garden rooms filled with colour, texture and nostalgia that can be viewed from every room within the home. It’s an integral part of a major refurbishment of a beautiful heritage home in Subiaco, Perth, by Perth architect Beth George. It was designed for her sister who is an archaeologist.
The garden is whimsical, timeless, and romantic. As part of the home renovation, a void was cut into the western edge and a light-filled courtyard was built, which is now filled with swathes of vibrant living colour and texture.
“The Reed family love this adventurous, diverse landscape with its pink fluffy courtyard heart and dramatic green, seasonally golden cascade”
Christina Nicholson, founding director of Banksia & Lime, says the garden effortlessly embodies the concepts of inside/outside living. “There’s a unique garden for every room of the house to reflect different moods, each garden having its own rhythm and sense of place,” she says.
