“The design and layout of the house is one of transparency,” explains architect Paul Mtwa of MTWA Architects.
“Expansive glazing forms a soft shell around the house, bringing the exterior in and interior out. Its east-west axis invites the South African northern sunlight into all the living and private spaces. Once inside, the living and entertainment spaces lead into one another without any barriers, and this creates the foundation for a contemporary experience.”
As soon as you step into the foyer you experience warm, inviting layers of texture and an immense amount of detail carefully stitched together and successfully executed. The double-volume foyer gives a feeling of opulence and sets the tone for the great reveal of the expansive living areas created and conceptualised by JDV Interior Designers.
