Interior Designers Sanjay Charate and Ashwini Kodolikar Have Designed a Modern and Luxurious Bungalow for Cardiologist Sachin Patil in Kolhapur.
Nestled amidst verdant green surroundings, Dr. Sachin Patil’s bungalow in Kolhapur, is a visual treat designed by Cultural’s Interior Designers, headed by Interior designers Sanjay Charate and Ashwini Kodolikar.
“The lines have been kept contemporary and sharp, with an interweaving contrast of nature, which transforms this structure into an inviting, urban paradise,” says Sanjay. The bungalow has been clearly demarcated into community and private spaces with the entrance lobby, living, dining, kitchen, storeroom, kids’ study and mother’s bedroom on the ground level, whilst the master bedroom, kids’ bedroom and home theatre are housed on the first floor. Both the floors are connected via a concrete staircase cladded with teak wood. With all the bedrooms open up to the terrace with an outdoor landscape.
The entrance foyer is carved out from the side margin area, i.e. the space between the bungalow and compound wall. Toughened glass is used to clad the canopy over this area, thereby allowing an abundance of natural light and a glorious open-to-sky view, which immediately creates a dramatic look, yet keeps the home sheltered from the elements.
The exposed offsets of slabs and beams are cladded with wooden-finish HPL (high pressure laminate), whilst flamed steel grey granite is used for the steps and walkway; wooden vitrified planks for the flooring. The teak wood main door is partly hand-carved and finished in PU polish, whilst the customised door handle and sides of the door are cladded with rough teak marble.
