Whether you work from home or just need a place for paperwork and correspondence, here are some great ideas for studies and home offices
1 CLOSE AT HAND
To encourage more family interaction, Durbanite Michelle Bumberry established this working area adjacent to the kitchen furnished with a trestle desk and sideboard from @home. “This is where my sons do their homework and go online and we can chat at the same time,” says Michelle.
2 PRODUCTION LINE
For this family with three boys, designer David Muirhead came up with a combined relaxing and working area off the bedrooms. At one end, there is a long counter separated by drawers into three work stations with wall-mounted cabinets for additional storage. Funky chairs and a bright rug make it a fun place to get that homework done. The yellow framed mirror is from Fine Living.
3 BELOW STAIRS
In townhouses, the area under the stairs is usually not big enough to use, but by replacing the solid concrete staircase with open wooden treads, Colour works Interior Design was able to turn the space into a work station.
