We speak to the interior-turned-industrial designer on how he hopes to preserve a part of Singapores architectural history with his own line of metal grilles
HOW DID THE IDEA FOR TEETFA COME ABOUT?
It came about because I could not find a metal workshop to produce a grille gate I wanted for an interior design project. My project supervisor had almost a decade of metalwork experience before he joined my practice, and he decided to take up the challenge to make one himself. The result was very successful and we decided to produce a few more of such works. Before long, we had a collection of works and started Teetfa to revive traditional grille work and designs.
