Project 5.0

Like for many others, the Covid years were more difficult in more ways than one for me. I had lost the occasional night out dressed, the ability to dress regularly, and had even more uncertainty of what the future held.

Project 5.0

Coming out of lockdown

I didn't use my time wisely, and put on a fair bit of weight, which meant I had to add a few bigger items to my closet. But whilst I wasn't dressing as much, I was still spending a lot on clothes, wigs and makeup. Approaching 50 (hence the title Project 5.0) I knew I had to get my arse in gear. I decided at the start of 2022 that I had to make big changes again and stick to them. Towards the end of 2021 I had been exercising regularly but I was continually putting on weight, so I went on the Keto Diet. Within three months I'd lost two stone and I am strongly motivated to lose more. Getting 'in the zone' and sticking to a strict regime has also helped me figure out my priorities to be the 'best version' of myself. Recently, I also had a big clear out of clothes, shoes, makeup and a few wigs that I was happy to part with (One lucky charity shop received a few pairs of size 10 fetish shoes and some shiny outfits!)

Ouch but yay!

Despite the challenges faced in 2021, one thing I did do, was commence a programme of laser hair-removal for my front and back. For me, this was the first big step on my journey to become more feminine. Whilst this is one of the most expensive and painful things I've ever done (and I've broken several bones in the past) it is definitely worth it. As the therapist said, 'if I was ever being tortured, I would spill the beans straight away' with my low pain threshold but hey ho! This has also helped my quest to lose weight, as when I'm looking in the mirror I now see a much less masculine chest, encouraging me to keep going more.
