Con cámara en mano, Cristina Mittermeier ha recorrido el mundo para crear un diálogo visual que advierta sobre la urgencia de la protección ambiental.
With her camera in hand, Cristina Mittermeier has traveled the world to spark a dialogue about the importance of protecting the environment.
“MY WORK IS ABOUT BUILDING A GREATER AWARENESS OF THE RESPONSIBILITY OF WHAT IT MEANS TO BE HUMAN. It is about understanding that the history of every living thing that has ever existed on this planet also lives within us. It is about the ethical imperative, the urgent reminder that we are inextricably linked to all other species on this planet and that we have a duty to act as the keepers of our fellow life forms.” As a marine biologist, photographer and lover of the environment, Cristina Mittermeier has dedicated her life to creating a universal dialogue on the importance of conservation through visual impact. In Amaze, Cristina compiles her work for National Geographic to bring the observer’s restless gaze to the world’s wildest places and most isolated communities, thus revealing not only our absolute dependence on nature, but also our own humanity.
