If you live in one of the Northern states and you get the itch to be outside, there are no biting bugs during the winter months to make an outing unbearable. That's a big plus for me. I hate applying bug repellent and then reapplying it a few minutes later, after I've sweated off the first dose of questionable chemicals. (In fact, bug repellent once ate away at the plastic case of my handheld GPS unit. It made me wonder what it was doing to my body.)
