Singaporean Actor Ayden Sng Is A Pond With Undiscovered Depth.
KELLY LEWI
A Man Of Interest

A COUPLE OF WEEKS before our cover shoot was supposed to happen, I began digging a little bit deeper into Ayden Sng the man, rather than his public persona. The interview was not the first time I had met the Singaporean actor. Our paths had crossed on several occasions months prior; at best we exchanged pleasantries — him as Ayden Sng the actor, and I as Kelly from Augustman. From our brief interactions, I had gathered him to be a polite yet reserved man. Charming, for sure; he is a celebrity, after all.

My first impression of him was not off the mark, either. There are snippets of him playing the er-hu, a traditional Chinese instrument that he is known to have mastered, between his fashion postings and muses. “A man of talents,” I had thought. Yet, it felt like looking at still water. Gentle, but with an inexplicable sense of unravelled mystery.

Again, I was not off the mark.

During the shoot, Ayden was all smiles to the crew. Having recently landed from China, he had been fulfilling his acting schedules, and was set to fly off to Seoul the very next day. I had joked about how he was Mr. International for flying all over the world — he had just attended Milan Fashion Week over a month earlier. It never seems to end for him. His life can sometimes feel like a series of departure timings to watch, but he shrugged it off with practised ease that loosened the awkward tension.
