I DON’T REMEMBER MUCH about Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but I remembered feeling so disappointed that (for the foreseeable future at least) this was how the story of the Skywalkers would end – with a whimper. A whimper chock-full of special effects and visually impressive action set pieces, but a whimper nevertheless. This was four years and a pandemic ago, but the feelings remained.
The show had promised so much. Do you remember that rousing version of the Star Wars theme they used in the trailer? Do you remember that period between The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi when the world seemed full of hope and promise and we couldn’t wait for more Star Wars?
