Tissot is enjoying two strong years in a row, built on the back of a handsome archival model the integrated bracelet sportive model called the PRX. A late ’70s model relaunched in 2021, the Tissot PRX became a runaway hit as the industry’s most affordable and accessible of luxury steel sports watches. For 2022, Tissot ups the ante with the PRX Chronograph Valjoux.
Strong angular case and seamless bracelet aside, the PRX is not a Royal Oak clone as some erroneously believe. Sans overt bezel of any kind, the model is closer in style and aesthetics to another ’70s model, the Oysterquartz. That said, everything that made the 2021 time-only PRX model such a hit is back, but with a sportier, high-contrast ‘panda’ dial.
