With the digital age comes connectivity, instantaneity and the crazy-amazing ability to go viral in hours. Stephanie Poetri can attest to that. “I Love You 3000” and its music video, has been viewed over 50 million times on YouTube since June 2019 and shot to #1 on the Spotify Viral 50 Chart in the same month. We spoke exclusively to Stephanie to see what she’s currently working on and the relatable way she veg out.
Can you tell us how you came up with “I Love You 3000”?
I like to do Q&As on my Instagram stories, and one day, I decided to ask people to send me a word or a phrase and write it into a short song. Endgame came out a week before that, so a bunch of people sent ‘I Love You 3000.’ I wrote the chorus of the song super-quickly and the next day a lot of people said they wanted it to be a full song. I wrote it in two hours and went and got my friend to help produce it with me!
Did you ever expect it to become as big as it turned out to be?
