Dragonflies hunt with their eyes for insect prey
CANAL KILLERS

Before dinosaurs roamed the earth dragonflies with wingspans as wide as a duck’s were flying. The largest insects known to have inhabited our planet, they remain a relatively primitive group with transparent, veined wings that beat independently. By moving its wings in a rapid figure-of-eight motion, a dragonfly can turn and loop with great agility and fly sideways or even backward and hover.
