Defender, Rachael O’Neill is looking for Celtic Women to turn a corner under new coach, Eddie Wolecki Black
CELTIC Women suffered a disappointing 7-2 defeat at the hands of current second-placed side Hibernian on Sunday at Ainslie Park.
The Hoops currently sit third in the Scottish Women’s Premier League with 26 points, some way behind Glasgow City and Hibs, who both have 44 points, and who will battle it out for this season’s league title.
But, under the reign of new incoming head coach Eddie Wolecki Black, the Celtic Women’s team will be looking forward to the final few fixtures of the campaign.
Wolecki Black, who is joining the ranks at Celtic from Motherwell Ladies, won a raft of trophies during his spell at Glasgow City, proving he knows how to win silverware, something that defender, Rachael O’Neill says is her aim for next season.
The 22-year-old began her footballing career as a youth player at Celtic, before signing for Rangers in search of more game-time, but eventually found herself back with the Hoops in February this year.
The View caught up with O’Neill to discuss Celtic Women’s season so far, and the team’s aspirations for winning silverware next season.
