Ryan Christie was thrilled to score Celtic’s League Cup final winner, and even more delighted that his parents were there at Hampden to cheer him on.
RYAN Christie said he was delighted to play his part in helping Celtic win their seventh trophy under Brendan Rodgers and dedicated his goal to his parents who he credited with helping him get to this point in his career.
The 23-year-old midfielder continued his excellent form in the Hoops with his fifth goal in 10 games when he scored the decisive goal in Celtic’s 1-0 win against Aberdeen at Hampden in the League Cup final.
Speaking to the Celtic View, Christie said scoring in the final was a special moment and added he was happy for everyone involved with the club to have won more silverware.
“I’m delighted for all the boys and everyone associated with the club,” said Christie. “We always want to take trophies back to Celtic Park and to do that against Aberdeen, who have been such a good side every time we’ve played them, is amazing.
