Mikael Lustig captained Celtic on Sunday, but he was delighted to share the trophy-lifting duties with Scott Brown.
IN the wake of Celtic’s dominant League Cup final victory over Aberdeen at Hampden on Sunday, matchday captain Mikael Lustig was overjoyed by his team’s incredible seven consecutive domestic trophy run.
So high is the standard Brendan Rodgers’ side have set themselves in recent years, that the Swede was almost disappointed the Hoops didn’t score more on the day against the Pittodrie side.
Nonetheless, he was delighted to secure silverware at this stage in the season.
And he was happy to take his place on the podium after the game and lift the League Cup trophy with club captain, Scott Brown, who came on as a second-half substitute.
Speaking to the Celtic View after the cup final, Lustig said: “We maybe didn’t create as many chances as we’d have liked, and with a little bit more quality in the last third, we could have scored three or four.
