Rapper-Singer SukhE Opens Up About His Work Life And Beliefs

He’s extremely popular among the youth and videos on YouTube are a testament to that with millions of hits. He loves performing in Delhi colleges where thousands of students gather to enjoy his concerts. Originally hailing from a small town Garhshankar in Punjab, SukeE left us impressed with his modesty and his unpretentiousness. Here, he tells us how much he struggled to get where he is today and how excited he is about his latest song with Badshah and T-Series.

What led to your decision to enter the world of music?

I used to create remixes and had started working as a DJ in my late teenage years. Listening to music had always been my favourite activity. I was quite lucky because even at that young age my parents and friends both used to support me every time I took up a new gig. To be honest I don’t know when my hobby turned into a career, but it just happened by itself.

Please tell us a little bit about your journey and how it has shaped you as a person today.

After I completed class 12th, I decided to move to Chandigarh for my higher studies. It was then that I started remixing songs. It was important for me to meet new people who could give me work. As a result, I met different types of people, those who were good and those who were bad. I learnt lessons that help me even today. When I had started working things weren’t always good. Lots of people used to point out my mistakes and then tell me that they were quite disappointed. But I continued to work hard on myself. I spent a few years just working on myself and my weak points. Many people told me to leave the work that I was doing but I decided that I had to work hard and continue to work till I got it right. I became a much stronger person as a result of the struggle that I underwent.
