PRANAV KAPUR
Pranav Kapur is just 23 years old. He is young and feisty, and takes every challenge with a positive attitude. Not the one to get carried away with the praise that is showered on him, he gets candid and shares how he started his journey and how his love for Polo came about. “I started riding horses at the age of about 15 in in the ASC Centre and College in Bengaluru. My family was based there and I had always had a soft corner for horses.” Pranav did not plan on becoming a professional Polo player always. So what got him into it? He tells us, “I probably stopped picking up books to read since I was 6 or 7 years old because my dream back then was to get into London School of Economics. Since I knew that it was going to take hard work, I started working towards it early enough. But in 2011, I saw Col. Faiz Siddiquie stick and ball a horse running at maximum pace with its ears pinned back. Every ball he hit flew in the air and subsequently I witnessed a brilliant Polo game. It was in that instance that I decided what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Those few seconds made me realize that Polo was my calling.”
