Handy Home Help

Need something fixed or improved at your place? Better Wi-Fi coverage, perhaps, or a new wall of wallpaper? Here are some reader recommendations about useful home service companies, from handymen and cleaners to IT whizzes and furniture restorers.

Handy Home Help

A-TEAM AMAHS

Jennifer and John Lombard, Australian; Jonathan (19) Charlotte (16) and Annabelle (12)

I came across A-Team Amahs in Expat Living and also did a google search of the company for testimonials. We’ve been using their part-time home-cleaning service since May 2018.

My first point of contact was with Julie by phone and then additional information was completed via email. I was asked what kind of service I was looking for, the number of hours per week that was required, and on which days. My preferences for hours and days were easily and well met. The payment structure and one-time agent fee was explained clearly, so was the process of helper selection. A lovely lady named Gemma was assigned to us. She was initially sent to us on a trial basis so that if I was not satisfied with her performance, there was an opportunity to change to another helper. Gemma was wonderful from the get-go and, once I explained what I required her to do, she got straight to work and didn’t need any supervision.

My experience with A-Team Amahs has been a positive one from beginning to end and Gemma is a godsend. I would recommend the company to anyone looking for part-time help in Singapore.

WIZARD HOME SERVICES

Maria Del Mar and Rob Rippens, Colombian and Dutch; Martin (4)

Once we got our apartment and settled down, I felt that I wanted some time myself, so I started looking through expat community groups and magazines for recommendations for a part-time helper. I came across Wizard Home Services, whose cleaning and air-con services we’ve been using since July 2018.
