Elle Fanning is doing fashion and films her own way

Elle McClure
Fan Girl
At just 19 years of age, Elle Fanning has already outgrown her “little sister” tag to become a film and fashion ingenue in her own right. This year saw her star alongside Nicole Kidman and Kirsten Dunst in The Beguiled – cementing her place (next to Dunst) as a favourite of director Sofia Coppola – and 2018 will bring a barrage of films with Fanning in the lead role, including Mary Shelley, in which she’ll play the Frankenstein author (the film also stars Game Of Thrones’ Maisie Williams), and post-apocalyptic drama I Think We’re Alone Now, opposite Peter Dinklage. With her playful personal style, Fanning has also become a front-row favourite and sartorial sweetheart, recently lending her flair to Tiffany & Co.’s “There’s Only One” campaign – the first with Reed Krakoff at the helm as chief artistic officer. The campaign, which was captured by legendary photographers Inez & Vinoodh, is a celebration of individuality that also stars Zoë Kravitz, Janelle Monáe, Cameron Russell, Annie Clark (aka St Vincent) and dancer David Hallberg. We caught up with Fanning post-shoot to talk fashion, favourite roles and coming into her own.

I WAS SO EXCITED WHEN I HEARD INEZ & VINOODH WERE SHOOTING THIS CAMPAIGN.
