A trio of Australia’s brightest young stars are the grounding force in this month’s out-of-this world remake of Picnic At Hanging Rock

AS IF STARRING ALONGSIDE DANIEL RADCLIFFE IN 2017’S JUNGLE AND TAKING ON A LEAD ROLE IN THE AUSTRALIAN TELEVISION REMAKE OF ROMPER STOMPER WEREN’T ENOUGH, NOW SULLIVAN HAS HER SIGHTS SET ON WRITING, TOO

PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK IS SUCH A FORCE FOR WOMEN, AND MANY DIFFERENT KINDS OF WOMEN.

How the characters are portrayed came from who Maddy [Madden], Samara [Weaving] and I are as people. We were exploring three characters that are told through everyone else’s perception of them.

I DESCRIBE MY CHARACTER, MIRANDA, AS A WOMAN WHO WAS BORN IN THE WRONG TIME.

She grew up on a cattle station and, out of all the girls, is chasing the closest thing to equality. She’s a frustrated woman who won’t accept the expectations and rights of the time. I fell in love with the respect she has for her intuition.

IT’S SCARY TO THINK HOW RELEVANT THE STORY IS.

The conversation that’s happening [now] about the strength it takes to speak up for yourself – that’s exactly what these girls were doing. They were finding their own way to be true to themselves, [because of] a desire to not be moulded and groomed into something they’re not.

I’M WORKING ON A SHORT FILM WITH A FRIEND.
