Movement For Mind, Body Soul
Expat Living Singapore|March 2023
Searching for a low-impact workout that will still make you sweat? Here's a look at two full-body workouts that will work your core and so much more - and where you can try them here in Singapore. Plus, instructors from some of our favourite studios share why they love yoga and Pilates, and the advantages each discipline offers.
Movement For Mind, Body Soul

#1 YOGA

This low-impact workout can be done at any age and stage, regardless of your fitness level. So, whether you’re a certified human pretzel or can barely reach your ankles, yoga is for you!

From increased strength, balance and flexibility, and reduced stress levels to back pain relief, enhanced heart health, better sleep and mood-boosting qualities, the benefits of this ancient practice are practically endless. In fact, certain asanas (yoga poses) can target specific areas of the body and help with certain conditions. For instance, the “Dolphin Pose” relieves headaches and back pain while stretching the shoulders, hamstrings and calves; and the “Lotus Pose” can help ease menstrual cramps, among other benefits.

Yoga Edition

With one of the widest arrays of yoga offerings around, Yoga Edition is a sanctuary for yoga practice here in Singapore. And, with a newly upgraded studio at Millenia Walk, there’s even more space for practitioners of all levels and interests to experience the full spectrum of monthly curated workshops and classes – over 50 different classes, in fact, from strength, mobility and rest and recovery yoga, to hot and warm yoga and specialfocus classes like Aerial Yoga, Pilates and One-to-One personal training. Practitioners can also challenge themselves with more intermediate classes such as Arm Balances, Inversions and Backbends.

The monthly membership rate at Yoga Edition is $126 per month; contact the studio for a complimentary trial class today at https://bit.ly/3RZXs4N.
