ON THE THEME, “POSSIBILITIES OF A NON-ALIENATED LIFE”
“In the age of supposed connectivity, it seemed to me that social fragmentation through divisive politics is at a high, capitalising on individually felt alienation throughout the population. The Biennale, I think, can be a space that addresses not only this alienation but also ways of being together through listening, imagining and celebration. Especially in the realm of “art & culture” that is so often charged with class and social privilege, I wanted to use the platform already built by past editions and open up the space to participants; a kind of ever-evolving learning experiment.
