Introducing A New Breed Of Barbershop With A Creative Twist
There’s something about Kapwa Studio that makes you want to strike up a conversation with the person beside you. Located at P. Burgos Street in the perpetually busy Poblacion, Makati, it isn’t considered as a normal salon both by its owners and the customers who frequent it. As co-owner Dan Bradbury puts it, “This place is all about having fun and expressing yourself, because the vibe is very chill and relaxing. Everyone here engages with each other, unlike in a typical salon where you sit and wait for your turn quietly.”
Kapwa is minimally designed, with gray walls and lighting features that can be adjusted depending on the vibe of a particular day. Immediately noticeable are the three big mirrors and the salon chairs on which resident barbers Dencio Aguilar and Joe Camacam work their grooming magic on clients.
