Star Decoration
What you need
paper star
craft glue
glitter
tape
Method
1. Cover the entire paper star with glue.
2. Sprinkle glitter all over your star. (To create different patterns on your star, stick tape onto sections to isolate a part before sprinkling the glitter on.)
3. Leave to dry.
Christmas Crackers
What you need
cracker snaps (available at Merrypak, www.merrypak.co.za)
empty toilet rolls
trinkets and sweets
scissors
midweight wrapping paper
craft glue
ribbon
paper stars
Method
1. Place a cracker snap through each roll, then fill with trinkets and sweets.
2. Cut paper into lengths to wrap snugly around each roll, with a 4cm overhang at each end to disguise the cracker snaps. Secure paper around roll with glue.
3. Twist and secure the end of each cracker with ribbon. Glue star on. Leave to dry.
Festive Wreath
What you need
flowers and greenery – we used penny gum, proteas and Pieris japonica (Japanese lily of the valley)
wreath frame (buy similar ones from nurseries or from Super Floral, www.superfloral.co.za)
string or fishing line
shears
scissors
ribbon
Method
1. Start by wrapping a large bunch of the penny gum around the wreath frame and secure onto the wreath with either string or fishing line. Build up the wreath by attaching more of the penny gum. (We covered ours to halfway.)
2. If you are using any other greenery, insert it into the gum and fasten onto the wreath with string.
