All Excess
Grazia|December 2018

How do you bottle the essence of excess? It involves a hint of sensual vanilla, crunchy popcorn and enchanting Ylang Ylang.

All Excess

The minimalists are preaching the philosophy of less is more. The maximalists are convincing us that more is, in fact, more. And then there’s Paco Rabanne – the connoisseur of excess. Our initiation into the era of ‘extra’ can be attributed to the designer back in the ’60s. Tagged as the enfant terrible of French fashion, Rabanne stirred the world of couture by crafting high-octane creations using alternative materials such as aluminum, rhodoid and sequin pailettes. A revolutionary designer, he aimed at making a woman feel bold and sexy, while feeling liberated and powerful.

The same philosophy of excess and provocation has been embraced by the fragrances created at Paco Rabanne. Last year, the brand announced the return of erotica with their Pure XS fragrance from their XS line, embodied by a devastatingly sexy heir, whose disarming sexuality was his weapon. In keeping with tradition, Paco Rabanne has now launched the Pure XS for Her – a wildly provocative fragrance, epitomised by the electrifying Emily Ratajkowski – the sensual heiress. Better known as @emrata to the ’gram generation, Ratajkowski is alluring, fierce, empowering, self assured, unabashedly sexy and unapologetically herself – embodying the Paco Rabanne woman.
